Re-Opening Updates: COVID-19

If you have not already done so, we ask that you read the full version of these guidelines before attending on Sunday. Please know that as a church, we are committed to continuing to minister online and in-person to our congregation until it is safe for all to return to in-person meetings. Both online and in-person services will take place Sunday mornings at 10:30 am. Online service will continue to be at https://forwardbaptist.online.church/

What follows is a summary of the action points:
As we re-open this Sunday (June 21), we desire to honour our governing authorities, represent Christ well among our neighbours, and protect the vulnerable among our congregation. Because of this, we have put a plan in place that is in compliance with the guidelines put out by Toronto Public Health for places of worship. This plan includes:

  • Limiting our seating capacity to allow for six feet of physical distance between individuals/households (this puts us well below the allowed 30% building capacity)
  • Prescreening everyone who enters the building.
  • Requiring masks to be worn by all people from the time they exit their cars/approach the building until after they leave.
  • Requiring hand sanitizer to be used by all entering the building.
  • Taking attendance of all who enter the building for the purpose of contact tracing in the case of an outbreak.
  • Not allowing for social mingling in the building, but requiring everyone to proceed directly to their seats and remain there if at all possible until they are dismissed.  (Detailed washroom protocols are in place for those who need to use them, but please use the washroom before you come).
  • No singing.
  • Serving no food or beverages in the building.
  • Thoroughly disinfecting the areas of the building that are used once everyone is dismissed.

We understand that these protocols are quite restrictive to our normal sense of what church should be. We look forward to the days when COVID-19 is no longer as big of a threat and the restrictions are able to be relaxed. In the meantime, we ask that you respect our protocols and listen to direction when it is given by our staff and volunteers on Sunday.

Thanks!
